Where we came from…
Mad River is a dream come true. The company was the brainchild of Simon Gater and Cia-Louise Coton, who worked in London but hankered for life by the water. They set up Mad River in Dorset in 2001 with one aim: to do what they love and love doing it. They also had a couple of core principles: to be open-minded when it came to ideas but single-minded about getting the detail right.
Since then, Mad River has become a busy, thriving agency with a super-talented team of creatives, event professionals and account managers.
We are creative-led; creating connections between people
and brands, but always with a firm commercial grounding.
We conceptualise campaigns, consider the right channels to market, and provide logistics
and detailed design through to the final delivery and evaluation.

As we’ve grown, clients have also asked us for other marketing services, such as
PR, media planning and buying. So we do that too, by teaming
up with specialist partners and sharing our expertise.
We still stick to Cia and Simon’s original principles though. So
we still think attention to detail
is crucial and we never, ever,
think that OK is good enough.
